Verspeeten Cartage, a truckload carrier operating in the United States and Canada, will deploy Aether MobileMax
multi-mode wireless communications system across its fleet of more than 400 vehicles.
Ontario-based Verspeeten plans to have its entire fleet outfitted with Aether's system by the end of summer.
Verspeeten is among a number of key HighwayMaster Series 5000 customers that have recently transitioned to the Aether MobileMax solution, which delivers real-time GPS-tracking and messaging over its unique multi-mode network. (Aether earlier this year acquired the HighwayMaster system from @Track Communications.)
"Aether MobileMax continues to gain significant momentum across the trucking industry," said Frank Briganti, President, Aether Transportation and Logistics. "Our plans have not changed. We will continue to support Series 5000 customers in the future, while introducing them to the ever-expanding mobile solutions that Aether provides."
Aether MobileMax uses a multi-mode system that automatically switches between terrestrial (land-based) and satellite communications without driver or dispatcher intervention to ensure complete coverage and more cost-efficient communications. The MobileMax system transmits dispatch and data messages and GPS position reports, and provides data on state-line crossings, vehicle fault codes, and driver performance.
