Global 2-Way, Marcos Island, Fla., has released a detailed explanation of its intent to purchase certain technologies from Terion, Inc.

Global 2-Way describes the announcement as a clarification of a press release issued July 15.
According to the most recent release, Global 2-Way has agreed to purchase Terion’s DHF network assets, but the agreement must await court approval since Terion filed for Chapter 11 reorganization in January.
Terion, based in Richardson, Texas, continues to market its FleetView trailer tracking system, but ceased operation of the DHF driver communication network it called Mobile Messenger a year ago. The pending purchase agreement does not involve FleetView or any other Terion service or product.
DHF stands for Digital High Frequency, a messaging system that uses FM radio towers to transmit data from dispatch to a truck. Messages from the truck use high-frequency waves that bounce from the ionosphere to a series of ground-based antennas.
Global 2-Way will incorporate the technologies into its T-Fleet system for vehicle location, driver communication and fleet management. Customers will be able to exchange free-form text messages. Dispatch will be able to view a vehicle's location whenever it starts or ends motion, or at preset intervals when the vehicle is moving or upon request from the dispatcher.
