PGT Trucking, a flatbed motor carrier servicing the steel and building construction industries, will deploy an additional 165 units of Aether MobileMax2, Aether's multi-mode wireless communications system.

Prior to this upgrade, PGT Trucking utilized used MobileMax2 units, with an additional 254 trucks using an earlier version of Aether's multi-mode product. With the upgrade, the Monaca, Pa.-based carrier will now have 281 MobileMax2 units.
After an extensive assessment of the company's mobile messaging needs, PGT Trucking chose to maintain Aether as its wireless provider and plans to ultimately upgrade its entire fleet to Aether MobileMax2. MobileMax2 transmits data messages, GPS position reports and other critical information, helping fleet managers improve productivity and efficiency.
Aether MobileMax2 uses a dual-mode network system that automatically switches between terrestrial (land-based) and satellite communication pathways without driver or dispatcher intervention.
"We're dedicated to enhancing the efficiency of our fleet through mobile messaging," said Bob Reda, Director of Customer Service, PGT Trucking. "This product enables us to stay in constant communication with our drivers and assists us in maximizing resource productivity."
