Schneider National, Green Bay, Wis., is hiring 200 new truck drivers around the Kansas City and Wichita, Kan., areas.

According to The Topeka Capital-Journal, the positions will be available to people living within 75 miles of Kansas City and within 60 miles of Wichita. About 150 of the jobs will be in the Kansas City/Topeka area and 50 will be in the Wichita/Hutchinson area. Most of the positions will be dedicated runs, giving drivers a predictable work schedule with time at home each week.
Schneider National isn't planning to build facilities in the area, but drivers will be provided with parking space within 50 miles of their homes for the company-owned trucks.
"We've bucked the trend," Schneider’s Mike Norder told the paper. "We've had an amazing end to 2001 and an unbelievable beginning to 2002. Where many other trucking companies have suffered greatly over the last two years, we've been growing gangbusters and adding new business."
