Profit Tools announced a new rail tracing feature for customers of its business, operations and e-commerce product line.

This allows users to quickly perform rail-tracing requests and check rail billings for trailers or containers at most rail websites.
"Our Rail Trace functionality gives Profit Tools' customers a new tool to eliminate time-consuming manual entry in rail tracing systems. Our customers can extract a list of container numbers they are responsible for at any given time and quickly paste those numbers into rail tracing sites," explained Profit Tools president Brian K. Widell. "Because tracing is a repetitive process performed throughout the day, this faster approach provides real cost savings."
Asset Based Intermodal of Dallas is the first Profit Tools' customer to implement this feature. "Rail Tracer is a great addition to the Profit Tools software," says Craig Ingram, president of Asset Based. "Given the large number of containers we trace on a daily basis, use of this new feature gives our dispatchers a quicker and more accurate way of determining our customers' pick up and delivery needs, saving us time and money and enabling us to better service our customer base."
