More than 10,000 Kelly Springfield truck tires have been recalled for possible premature tread separation.

Some Armorsteel KLHS Load Range G tires, size 285/75R24.5 and 295/75R22.5, made between February and May 2001, have shown evidence of premature tread separation. If the tread were to separate from the carcass of the tire while the vehicle is in motion, the driver could lose control of the vehicle, possibly resulting in a crash.
Goodyear, which owns Kelly Springfield, will replace the tires. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification began April 3, 2002. Owners who do not receive the free replacement tires within a reasonable time should contact Goodyear at 1-800-321-2136.
