On May 1, the $12.7 million project to reconstruct the interchange of I-55 at the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) in Chicago enters Stage II, with the six-week closure of the southbound I-55 ramp to northbound I-294.

This closure will continue through June 15 and is expected to have a significant impact on traffic. Over 13,500 vehicles use this ramp each day.
Motorists will be directed to use southbound County Line Road to northbound I-55 to northbound I-294 as the detour route.
Overall, this project will replace and widen two bridges and reconstruct five ramps. It is scheduled for completion by October 31.
For more information, including detour maps, visit the IDOT web site at http://www.dot.state.il.us/ and follow the link to Project Info. Also, project brochures will be available from the toll booth operators at the toll plaza for I-55 at I-294.
