Georgia insurance officials have ordered OTR Truckers Assn. Inc. to stop selling unauthorized health insurance plans in the state.

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the Cumming, Ga.-based OTR is not licensed or authorized to sell insurance in Georgia, and never has been. Its administrator, M&M Underwriting of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., isn't either.
OTR Truckers was a Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement, in which several employers, often in the same industry, cooperate to obtain group insurance for their employees or an arrangement made by an insurance company to cover several employers under one master policy.
This is the third unlicensed MEWA the state has shut down this year.
