SIRVA, a Clayton, Dubilier & Rice portfolio company, has agreed acquire the National Association of Independent Truckers (NAIT), a leading provider of insurance and services to owner-operators.

NAIT, Kansas City, Mo., is an association of more than 11,000 independent contract truck drivers that provides its members with occupational accident, physical damage, and non-trucking liability insurance, as well as access to a suite of services, including fuel and tire discounts, emergency breakdown services, retirement programs, and legal assistance. While NAIT will become part of SIRVA's Insurance Services business segment under the leadership of Larry Writt, it will continue to operate under its own brand name.
SIRVA's Insurance Services business includes TransGuard Insurance Company of America, Inc., the largest multi-line insurance company in the U.S. serving the moving and storage sector as well as other segments of the transportation industry.
"For more than 20 years, NAIT has committed itself to supporting and serving the specialized needs of independent trucking entrepreneurs," said Cheryl Womack, founder and President of NAIT. "Our alignment with SIRVA will only strengthen our commitment to the industry and to providing a comprehensive catalogue of valuable benefits geared to the unique needs of our members." Womack will remain with the business to facilitate NAIT's transition into SIRVA and to pursue and develop new business opportunities.
