Hahn Transportation, a tank truck carrier based in New Market, Md., has selected Aether MobileMax2 wireless communications system.

Hahn Transportation specializes in hauling petroleum products, asphalt, dry bulk products and milk to its customers in the Mid-Atlantic region. Hahn also operates a flatbed division that moves aluminum, building and construction equipment.
Hahn is currently in the process of installing Aether Systems' MobileMax2 system - which transmits data messages, position reports and other critical information - across its fleet of 172 trucks and plans to complete installations during the first half of 2002.
The MobileMax2 data terminal transmits data messages and GPS position reports, and provides data on vehicle fault codes and driver performance. Aether MobileMax2 uses a dual-mode modem that automatically switches between terrestrial (land-based) and satellite communication pathways.
The information provided by MobileMax2 allows companies to evaluate individual driver and vehicle performance, notify operations when a vehicle engine exceeds specified parameters, and calculate the distance vehicles travel in each state.
"MobileMax2 gives us the ability to better manage our fleet, our drivers and our trucks via a single mobile communication solution," said Barbara Windsor, CEO of Hahn Transportation.
