Two Swedish companies, All Set Marine and All Set Tracking, are set to market a commercial freight container tracking technology called ALLTrack.

Developed by Swedish wireless communications giant Ericsson, ALLTrack wirelessly monitors containers from the exporting company through forwarders, trucking companies, ports, ocean carriers and railroad systems to final destination.
According to the All Set announcement, ALLTrack uses inexpensive RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags with very low power needs. The tags can integrate with sensors to monitor temperature, humidity, shocks, lights etc.
Tag readers include GPS (Global Positioning System) and communication modules that send location and other information via ground-based or satellite systems to a central server, which provides the information to the customer. Readers are installed at critical points, such as on ships, airplanes, trucks, railways or in container terminals and ports.
"With the advanced wireless technology developed by Ericsson, 'ALLTrack" has huge market potential," said Pär Dehlin, executive vice president at All Set Marine.
