Freightgate Inc. has announced its official industry-wide launch of ACES, Alliance for Contract Exchange Standardization.

The group has been formed to create and promote an industry standard for formats in which freight contract rates are transmitted.
ACES wants to develop ways to improve the efficiency of the negotiation, maintenance, querying, and presentation of such data, not by providing an association-based system, but by providing an electronic format that will make it easier to get rates into a system.
"We had a very positive response to the invitations we sent to prospective founding members and are excited about bringing ACES to the public. During this pre-launch period, we were contacted by many large players interested in taking part. We think such an initiative is long overdue," says Martin Hubert, CEO and president of Freightgate and Founder of ACES. Earlier this month, ACES issued 15 invitations to selected industry leaders (carriers, NVO's and shippers) to participate as founding members.
ACES is online atwww.joinaces.org.
Freightgate is a logistics portal with an emphasis on international trade, including air, ocean and trucking.
