DaimlerChrysler is continuing with its reorganization, removing most of its bus making operations from under the Freightliner banner.

Company officials announced the creation of DaimlerChrysler Commercial Buses North America, which will be headquartered in Greenboro, N.C.
The new division will consist of Setra highway coaches, Orion transit buses and selected Thomas Built commercial buses. Orion and Thomas Built commercial buses formerly were integrated under Freightliner LLC -- DaimlerChrysler’s North American commercial vehicle division. The Thomas Built school bus business will remain within Freightliner and will interact closely with the new commercial bus division, say company officials.
Andreas Strecker has been appointed president of DaimlerChrysler Commercial Buses North America.
