Delphi, Troy, Mich., has signed contracts this year with several major commercial vehicle manufacturers worth about $800 million
over the life of the contracts from 2002-2006.
The contracts, which are for diesel engine control modules, satellite digital audio receiver service systems, audio systems, wiring systems and other technologies, come as commercial vehicle manufacturers continue to choose electronically enhanced products, according to the company.
"Commercial vehicle manufacturers are looking for ways to improve the performance, safety and life of heavy-duty trucks and more often they are adopting cutting-edge electronically enhanced technologies to do so," said Jeff Owens, president of Delphi Delco Electronics Systems and a Delphi vice president.
International Truck and Engine Corp. and Volvo Global Truck are among the recent business contracts.
