AmeriQuest Transportation and Logistics Resources Corp. has received a patent for its innovative business system.

Businesses participating in the "collective business system" model get enhanced purchasing power, national marketing capabilities and other business support to help them compete with bigger companies.
The Collective Business System has been in operation for three years in the independent truck leasing and rental industry, where it is actively processing orders for fleet equipment. Companies such as Hogan Motor Leasing, DeCarolis Truck Rental and Transervice Lease Corp. have saved thousands of dollars, according to AmeriQuest. Ameriquest is the parent company of FleetXchange.
"This is a classic 'no-lose' situation for companies operating in diffused industries with just a few major players," says Doug Clark, president and CEO, who is named as the inventor on the patent. "The participants get better pricing, greater exposure and potentially the chance to benefit from a stock offering."
He notes that it is not an association, buying service or franchise. "It is a group of participants who may opt to be shareholders in the company," he says.
Unlike franchising, which must adhere to many strict laws and constraints, the system allows independent businesses to work collectively and retain their independence while avoiding administrative headaches associated with franchises.
