The Illinois Department of Transportation is warning drivers to expect major congestion when a three-week construction project begins on the Edens Expressway (I-94) in the Chicago area.

October 27 is the tentative starting date for the 14-mile project, which will involve pavement patching and ramp and bridge repairs. The closure of one lane of traffic in each direction is likely on many occasions.
The project is scheduled for completion Nov. 19.
