Cadec Corp. announced the availability of its Mobius TTST Point of Delivery software.
By combining Cadec's Mobius TTS onboard computer and a handheld device with Cadec's POD software, drivers can automate routine activities in and out of the truck. POD's features include electronic manifest, detailed delivery information, printed delivery receipts, up to the minute invoice updates, product verification, electronic payment, reconciliation and signature capture.
North America's largest privately held foodservice distributor, Michigan-based Gordon Food Service, has signed a contract to equip its fleet with Cadec's Mobius TTS onboard computer and the POD software.
"The driver is an integral part of our customer's business, and he or she should be equipped with technology tools that support a perfect delivery," said Les Dole, Cadec president and CEO. "By giving drivers the same computer capabilities out of the truck as we have given them inside the truck, the delivery process is now fully automated to guarantee it is carried in the most efficient manner and with complete customer satisfaction."
Included in Cadec's POD software is an Onboard Delivery Coach. This proactive driver alert software reviews the actions of the driver throughout the entire delivery process, from preparation to completion. If a driver attempts to deliver an incorrect product or a product that is planned for another stop the ODC will alert the driver of the error. Should the delivery have an overage, shortage or damaged goods, the driver can make the appropriate changes to the invoice before noting the payment method. Instant proof of delivery satisfaction is taken when the customer signature is captured electronically.
Real-time messaging using satellite, cellular or a combination of both can be used with Mobius TTS. Short-range radio frequency can also be used when real-time communications are not a necessary part of doing business. A printer connection is also provided should a driver need the ability to print an itemized delivery receipt or deposit slip.
