Aether Systems announced that Accelerated Freight Group, an Alabama-based motor carrier, has selected Aether MobileMax2, Aether's wireless communications system, for its fleet.

Accelerated Freight Group, which provides truckload services across the United States 48 contiguous states, plans to complete installations by the end of the fourth quarter of 2001.
Aether MobileMax2 automatically switches between terrestrial-based and satellite communication pathways without driver or dispatcher intervention to ensure complete coverage and cost-efficient communications. The MobileMax2 data terminal transmits data messages and GPS position reports over both satellite and terrestrial communication pathways and provides data on vehicle fault codes and driver performance.
"On any given day, our fleet is dispersed all across the country," said Rob Bowman, President of Accelerated Freight Group. "Aether MobileMax2 gave us the best possible coverage of our entire fleet at the most reasonable cost."
