XM Satellite Radio, based in Washington, D.C., has postponed today's scheduled launch of its commercial service due to the attacks on Washington and New York yesterday.

In a release issued late yesterday, XM President and CEO Hugh Panero said: "Due to today's national tragedy, XM Satellite Radio has postponed the launch of its commercial service in San Diego and Dallas scheduled for Sept. 12, as well as events in those cities and Washington, DC, related to the service launch.
