USF Bestway is building two new facilities as part of its strategy to provide the Pacific Southwest with next-day, regional, and national transportation services.

The first facility under construction is on 10 acres in Las Vegas. The new 44-door terminal will include 17,270 square feet of dock space and 7,600 square feet of office space. The facility is scheduled for completion in October and will increase USF Bestway's existing dock square footage in Las Vegas by over 540 percent.
"USF Bestway's confidence in the long-term growth of the Las Vegas market prompted us to construct this new facility and to develop a plan for doubling its size to 88 doors in the future," said Vice President Art Semler. "This market continues to outpace growth found anywhere else in the country."
The second facility is being built on 25 acres in Fontana, Calif. The new 165-door terminal includes 72,160 square feet of dock space and 11,200 square feet of office space and will also feature an eight-bay shop. The facility is scheduled for completion in January 2002 and will increase USF Bestway's Fontana capacity five-fold.
The new Fontana terminal will significantly increase USF Bestway's capacity in the Los Angeles Basin and enable even faster regional and national service to and from Southern California.
USF Bestway is a less-than-truckload carrier and is a unit of USFreightways Corp.
