Heavy trucks are being allowed back on the Hoan Bridge on Interstate 794 over Milwaukee's Lake Michigan harbor.

The bridge was closed to all traffic for about two months after two girders cracked last December after two girders cracked between the northbound lanes. Two-way car traffic has been allowed in the bridge's southbound lanes since February. Trucks up to 80,000 pounds are now allowed to use the span, which has been retrofitted.
The state says all the lanes will be open by Oct. 15.
