TransFinancial Holdings, Lenexa, Kan., which last year closed the two trucking companies it owned, is liquidating.

A year ago, TransFinancial closed Crouse Cartage, which employed about 1,000 people in 17 states. Crouse was founded in Iowa in 1941 and had 63 terminals in the Midwest and Southeast.
TransFinancial continued to operate a smaller trucking subsidiary, Specialized Transport Inc., until December.
The company is selling its remaining business in financial services and related assets for $14 million.
Company officials said the costs related to closing the transportation businesses were a key factor in the decision to liquidate.
