Ryder System, Miami, Fla., has opened a new service facility in South Oklahoma City.

The facility incorporates Ryder's preventative and programmed maintenance, rental operations, lease/finance, dedicated contract carriage, a used vehicles sales site and Ryder managed transportation and logistics accounts under one roof.
The South Oklahoma City location replaces Ryder's former location at 1645 W. Reno. Built on 10 acres and located at 5300 S. I-35 Service Road, the facility services more than 75 Ryder customers, including General Motors, Xerox, MBM Food Service Corp., DTF Trucking and RUS of Oklahoma.
The facility offers a diverse fleet of over 300 vehicles including panel vans, light-and heavy-duty straight trucks, tractors and trailers. It also includes a highly automated "paperless" maintenance shop with nine drive-through service bays, a three-lane computerized fuel service island and an automated wash bay.
"This centralized location is larger and was built to better serve our customers in the southern and eastern areas of Oklahoma City, as well as to help grow Ryder's contractual and rental business in this high-potential market," said James Mayer, general manager of the facility. "Additionally, we greatly enhanced our used vehicle sales capacity with the expansion."
