RegScan Inc., Williamsport, Pa., has developed a software system called HazMat Loader designed to help with trailer placarding, marking and segregation for domestic hazardous material shipments.

RegScan says the software tells government workers, drivers, dockworkers, carriers and shippers whether or not a load is legal.
In addition, the next release of HazMat Loader is now undergoing beta testing and incorporates more than 140 pages of regulatory changes recently released by the U.S. Department of Transportation. HazMat Loader supports these new optional rules before they become mandatory, offering an advantage in training. The user can toggle between the current and optional regulations. RegScan says Alabama and North Carolina have already adopted HazMat Loader for their enforcement efforts.
