The truckstop and travel plaza chain Petro will soon have four fewer locations.

Utah-based Flying J announced Thursday it had reached an agreement with Welsh Inc. of Merrillville, Ind., to purchase four Petro-franchised travel centers in Lowell, Ind., Lake Station/Gary, Ind., Benton Harbor, Mich., and Ft. Chiswell, Va.
The transaction is scheduled to close the end of the month and according to Flying J provides them with “additional premium facilities in two of the busiest trucking corridors in the United States.”
Flying J is already North America’s largest retail diesel marketer, and this will give the company a network of more than 150 locations in the United States and Canada. So far this year they have opened eight new locations and plan to open five others by the end of the year.
