Transplace, the Internet-based transportation logistics company of Plano, Texas, has released a report-card of sorts on its first anniversary of operations.

Transplace said that in the past year it has added customers Frito-Lay, Nestle, May Company, Michelin, Dawn Foods and others. Long-time customers include JC Penney, Weyerhaeuser, Georgia-Pacific, AutoZone, Office Depot, Grainger, Wal-Mart, Circuit City, Nissan Service Parts NA, Pfizer, Miller Brewing, Alcoa Industrial Chemicals, Pilkington NA, and Solvay Polymers.
Transplace said it manages more than 1.2 million truckload and intermodal movements and 5.7 million less-than-truckload shipments per year.
Transplace represents the merger of logistics units from six of the nation's largest truckload carriers. The founding carriers are Covenant Transport, J.B. Hunt Transport Services, M.S. Carriers, Swift Transportation, U.S. Xpress Enterprises and Werner Enterprises. M.S. Carriers and Swift have since merged.
