TransMontaigne Product Services Inc. has received a favorable letter ruling from the IRS for a fuel supply chain program designed for tax-exempt fleets.
The Atlanta company is one of the first companies to build and manage a web-enabled supply chain solution. The ruling allows TransMontaigne to provide governmental fleets with a simplified process for managing and obtaining fuel tax exemptions. For the first time, these exemptions will become automatic for the governmental operator of fleets. Utilizing TransMontaigne's web-enabled ordering, invoicing, and payment system, and in collaboration with Comdata and MasterCard Network, TransMontaigne can deliver a streamlined process for purchasing and managing fuel to state, county and municipal fleets. According to the company, administrative costs are minimized due to their comprehensive web-enhanced fuel supply chain application. Governmental fleet managers can now access a number of pricing options, obtain information whenever needed, and optimize their fueling logistics through the comprehensive Comchek, MasterCard Corporate Fleet Card acceptance network.
