The U.S. Department of Transportation will hold an information conference on the North America Free Trade Agreement
Oct. 21-24 at the Hyatt Hotel in San Antonio.
The conference will include panels on applying for federal motor carrier operating authority, immigration requirements for drivers operating outside their country, customs requirements for foreign trucks, tax obligations for companies operating commercial vehicles outside their country, motor carrier safety standards, hazardous materials transportation safety, and vehicle weight and dimension standards.
Also, state and provincial jurisdictions will provibe information on their operating requirements. Attendees will receive resource books from each country with additional information, contact names, e-mail and phone numbers.
All sessions will be conducted with simultaneous translation in English and Spanish.
