Citing increased bad debt exposure and volatile fuel costs, Comdata announced it is expanding its new percentage-based pricing structure for truckstops and travel plazas.
According to truckstop organization NATSO, travel plaza and truckstop customers completing between 1,000 and 5,000 transactions per month will be switched from a flat-based fee to a charge based on a percentage of the face amount of the Comchek transaction.
A year ago, Comdata customers that process fewer than 1,000 transactions a month were switched to the percentage-based fee. At that time, Comdata indicated it would phase in such fees to all Comchek card transactions.
The new fee structure goes into effect Aug. 13.
