FedEx Corp. less-than-truckload subsidiaries American Freightways and Viking Freight announced general rate increases
of 5.9 percent effective Aug. 6.
The AF increase applies to the company's interstate and intrastate common carrier freight rates published in its 5000 series tariff. Some additional adjustments in certain longer haul and imbalanced lanes will be included.
Viking's increase will apply to its intra- and interstate traffic, including Canada transborder and Mexico border shipments, as well as to minimum and accessorial charges. Various additional adjustments will be made to selected lanes and service areas.
Viking and AF comprise FedEx Freight. AF provides direct all-points delivery service in 40 contiguous states. Viking provides services through a network of service centers in 11 Western states, including Alaska and Hawaii.
