Truck driving champs whose companies aren't American Trucking Associations members can compete in an alternate national competition.

The American Trucking Associations this year decided to limit its National Truck Driving Championships to ATA members. That left a lot of state champions out in the cold. The U.S. Professional Truck Driver Championships will be held Sept. 26-29, 2001 at the Midwest Center in Milwaukee. The contest is open to all drivers who won their state championships this year.
The contest will consist of a written exam, pre-trip inspection and driving skills. Anyone interested in competing or judging should contact Dave Borngesser at (800) 951-9777 extension 2430.
