Volvo Trucks North America aims to make parts more readily available with its new Logistics Partnership Agreement (LPA) program.
Over the next year, Volvo truck dealers nationwide will begin offering LPA to improve service levels.
Under the program, participating dealers will be required to maintain a given number of most frequently needed parts, so that common repairs can be completed more quickly and with fewer rush shipments. Special software will continually track inventory levels of critical parts and automatically place reorders.
“With this new replenishment system, Volvo owners enjoy reduced downtime and cost, and dealers servicing Volvo trucks gain benefits in both service delivery and convenience,” said Chris Hooker, marketing manager for Volvo parts and service.
