Due to a company restructuring initiative, Volvo Trucks North America has released Volvo Trucks Canada president Michael O'Connell.

Rather than continuing with a separate Canadian operation, Volvo is shifting towards smaller sales regions that will report to Volvo headquarters in Greensboro, N.C.
"There are certain facets of our operation that we are converting from a separate Canadian organization to a regional structure, so we will be taking advantage of certain departments that are set up in our North American head office," says Brent Weary, Volvo Trucks Canada vice-president of sales and marketing. "We will be readjusting our reporting structure. I myself am responsible for the operation but still retain my title of VP of sales and marketing and I report to Bob Wright senior vice-president of sales and marketing in North America."
Weary added that a number of parts, sales and service functions will still be retained in Canada, but those regional managers in such operations will now report to Greensboro.
