Roadway Express is listed in Computerworld's 8th annual "100 Best Places to Work in IT" for 2001, the second consecutive year for the motor carrier.

Computerworld invited CIOs, vice presidents and IT directors at major U.S.-based companies and major consulting firms to participate in the survey online. The 75-question survey asked about the organizations' benefits, training and development, average salary increases, percentage of staff promoted, turnover rates, and the percentage of women and minority employees on staff and in IT management positions. In addition, information was collected on each organization's hot projects, mentoring programs and benefits, ranging from elder care and childcare to flextime and stock options.
Roadway is "a 70-year-old company in a basic industry, but it has re-invented itself throughout its history," said Bob Obee, vice president and CIO for the carrier.
