RACO Industries, Cincinnati, Ohio, has jumped into the mobile tracking business. The company will market PowerLOC Tracker systems to automobile and truck markets.

RACO is best known for marketing barcode printers, readers, scanners and related products. Tracker systems are made by PowerLOC Technologies Inc., a subsidiary of Paradigm Advanced Technologies Inc.
Tracker systems includes the VLD103 tracking device, which runs on 12-volt power and is easily installed, according to RACO. The VLD103 reports its position over a choice of land-based networks that include Mobitex, Aeris, Microburst, AMPS, CDMA, TDMA, GSM and CDPD.
The VLD103 reports to the PowerLOC’s Tracker Server, which makes the information available to users on the web.
Units will retail between $399 and $549, and monthly rate plans will begin as low as $15.95.
PowerLOC has a separate website at www.trackmyvehicle.com.
