My Yellow has been named the best transportation web site in a national ranking of the top 100 e-Businesses byInternetWeek magazine.

Yellow Freight Systems' high-volume site serves as an online customer service portal, offering features ranging from pickup requests and rate quotes to service maps and electronic shipping forms.
The magazine evaluated how top U.S. companies are using technology to optimize business processes. An intensive push over the past 18 months to develop more options for contact and easier access helped win attention for My Yellow from analysts and researchers who compiled the list, according to the company.
Since early 2000, Yellow has on average introduced one major new feature per month, and the number of registered My Yellow users has grown from about 4,300 to 40,000 currently. Recently introduced features include a rate calculator that lets the customer find pricing based on delivery windows that work best for him; an online bill of lading feature; an online feature allowing the customer to get speedy resolution for shortage and damage claims.
"Our strategy has always been about making it easier for our customers to find the right solution for their often complex transportation needs," said James Welch, president of Yellow Freight System. "The days of a one-size-fits-all transportation solution are over."
