Internet load-matching service LoadScout.com appears to be the latest dot-com casualty. Efforts to reach its web site on Friday returned a generic "page cannot be displayed" message. Calls to LoadScout returned busy signals all afternoon.

LoadScout, of Fort Collins, Colo. launched in January of this year, an offshoot of an agricultural web venture called CyberCrop.com. However, CyberCrop, which operated an online grain exchange, sold its domain name to another agricultural web company, Farms.com, and shut down at the end of April.
As recently as late March, a LoadScout spokesman told Truckinginfo.com the site was doing well, posting some 2,000 to 3,000 loads per day and matching more than 500.
