LTL carrier Central Freight Lines, Waco, Texas, will implement linehaul load and network planning technology from Logistics.com,
the web-based logistics and software company of Burlington, Mass.
According to the announcement from Logistics.com, Central will employ the OptiYield SuperSpin application for optimal load plan changes. The software rapidly analyzes conditional scenarios and recommends load plan changes to increase load averages, reduce unnecessary miles and eliminate rehandling.
OptiYield SuperSpin is part of Logistics.com's OptiYield system, a set of web-based management and analysis tools for transportation providers. With over 65 such customers, including eight of the top 15 trucking companies in the U.S., Logistics.com's OptiYield optimizes over 60,000 trucks daily.
A 75-year-old LTL carrier, Central Freight has more than 5,000 employees in 85 locations. The carrier became the Southwest division of Viking Freight in 1996 only to be taken private again the following year.
