Software provider BEA Systems of San Jose, Calif., has announced that logistics software company CarrierPoint has built and deployed its web-based logistics systems on a BEA WebLogic Server.
CarrierPoint Selects BEA WebLogic Server

CarrierPoint, based in Atlanta, brings together trucking carriers and freight shippers for automated contract facilitation, real-time bidding and shipment authorization -- processes that are traditionally time- and resource-intensive. CarrierPoint software can be licensed by shippers for maximum control or hosted by CarrierPoint for a complete turnkey solution.
According to the BEA announcement, CarrierPoint selected BEA WebLogic Server as its e-commerce platform after extensive testing and evaluation. Among the most important selection criteria was BEA's commitment to open standards, particularly enterprise Java – a platform-independent programming language widely used on the Web.
