NATSO, the professional association representing America' travel plaza and truckstop industry, announced the election of a new executive committee.

James Cardwell Jr. of Petro Stopping Centers in El Paso, Texas, is the new 2001 chairman of NATSO. Jene Quirin of Alpine Auto/Truck Plaza in Bridgeport, Mich., is first vice chairman. Nelson Baker of P&H Truckstop in Wells River, Vt., is the second vice chairman. Roger Cole of Highway Service Ventures in Ashland, Vt., is secretary/treasurer.
Each position marks a step in NATSO's four-year process of leadership succession. This is Cardwell's second year as chairman, and William E. Haslam of Pilot Corp., Knoxville, Tenn., continues serving as the head of NATSO's Steering Council.
