McClendon Transportation Group, Lafayette, Ala., announced meetings with Former Russian Republic head Mikhail Gorbachev to develop transportation logistics for Russian freight.
Gorbachev now heads the powerful Russian trade unions.
The meetings were arranged by Vance Hartke, a retired U.S. senator. Company President James McClendon, says McClendon Transportation Group is focusing more every day on the high-tech logistics sector of freight hauling, and that the opportunity to be a part of Russia's new freight system could be a major factor in the company's continued growth.
McClendon officials also announced that an unnamed U.S. financial institution has taken a $3 million equity position in the company.
