Eighty immigrants suspected of getting their commercial driver's licenses illegally in Illinois will have to re-take their tests.

The Illinois Secretary of State's office announced the retests Friday, two days after federal prosecutors provided the names of immigrants who are suspected of paying up to $1,200 to get a license without passing the required tests, reports The Chicago Tribune.
At least 10 of the 80 immigrants have been involved in accidents since 1997, according to the paper. Four have had their licenses suspended temporarily for alcohol-related convictions.
At least some of the immigrants are in the country illegally, reports the paper. They will likely not have the documents needed to get their licenses legally.
Since taking office two years ago, Secretary of State Jesse White has retested 1,752 drivers who may have gotten licenses, most of them commercial, through bribes. About one third failed or refused to be retested. So far, 41 people have been charged in the ongoing federal investigation into the license scam.
