AmeriQuest of Cherry Hill, N.J., a provider of transportation and logistics services and a membership-based buying co-op, has announced an agreement with the National Grocers Association of Reston, Va., to jointly offer an on-line procurement system
for association members and affiliates operating commercial fleets.
The National Grocers Association is a trade association representing independent retail and wholesale grocers. The service, to be launched this spring, will be based on a web site developed by the two groups and accessible through the association's site.
AmeriQuest and the association are offering the program to retailers, wholesaler, manufacturers and service suppliers representing approximately 40,000 trucks, tractors and trailers.
Association President and CEO Thomas K. Zaucha said that members and affiliates participating in the joint e-commerce purchasing service will have access to similar pricing and economies of scale previously available only to the nation's largest fleets.
