Just a few days after announcing the award of a new contract to supply truck cabs to Volvo Trucks North America, Mayflower Vehicle Systems announced it is closing one of its plants in late May.

Formerly known as American Commercial Vehicles, the company announced it's laying off 265 workers and 45 salaried positions at its Orville, Ohio, plant. Mayflower says it will transfer the work to its other plants, including work for the five-year, $13 million annual contract awarded by Volvo as well as work it already has for Mack Trucks.
