Mobile communications provider PeopleNet Communications of Minneapolis has announced it will now interface with dispatch software from Profit Tools of Nemarket, N.H.

The integration allows dispatchers using Profit Tools software to message drivers over PeopleNet's Intouch Fleet Management system. Drivers can respond, confirming pick-ups and deliveries, information that can in turn be shared with fleet customers.
"The decision to integrate with PeopleNet's Intouch system was customer driven," says Profit Tools president Brian K. Widell. "Our customers are small to mid-size fleets, and PeopleNet offers the most valuable and flexible solution. They wanted to use the communication capabilities of PeopleNet's Intouch system with the management tools we offer."
The announcement comes a little over a month after Profit Tools introduced software that would interface with various mobile communications providers, including evolving wireless services that will use the Palm operating system.
PeopleNet recently announced a low-cost tracking option in conjunction with Aeris.net and is also testing mobile engine diagnostic technology.
