Carlisle Motion Control Industries announced its plans to open a new friction material manufacturing facility in South Hill, Va.

Slated to open in late 2001, this facility will initially employ under 110 people and apply the company's proprietary production technology. This will enable Carlisle to add needed capacity for its core friction business while expanding efforts to lower manufacturing costs.
This new manufacturing facility will be located close to the company's current high-volume friction plant (located in Fredericksburg, Va) and the Carlisle Research and Development Center (located in Charlottesville, Va).
