The Motor Freight Carriers Assn., a Washington trade group representing unionized LTL carriers, reports that it has a new member, Airborne Express.

Airborne, an air and ground package delivery company, becomes the seventh member of the association.
"We see a great deal of value in the programs MFCA has developed in working with the Teamsters union in helping unionized companies compete," said Airborne’s Director of Labor Relations Bill Boe.
Airborne, a publicly held company whose stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange, specializes in delivering time-sensitive documents, small packages and freight in the U.S. and more than 200 other countries. Based in Seattle, it has more than 24,000 employees.
MFCA represents companies that employ 80 percent of the Teamsters covered by the National Master Freight Agreement. Besides Airborne, its members are ABF Freight System, A-P-A Transport, Consolidated Freightways, New Penn Motor Express, Roadway Express and Yellow Freight System.
