TradeOut of Valhalla, N.Y., an Internet marketplace for merchandise and equipment, announced that its commercial transportation group sold over $20 million in trucks, tractors, trailers, and containers during fourth quarter 2000,
making it the company's most profitable and fastest growing vertical marketplace.
Commercial transportation is one of 12 business groups on the TradeOut web site, which also offers markets for apparel, food and beverage, computer products, industrial equipment and more.
Most items on Tradeout are excess merchandise or off-lease equipment. Tradeout trucks and trailers come largely from renting and leasing companies such as Penske Truck Leasing, Ruan, Ryder TRS, Budget Truck Rental, and Transport International Pool (TIP).
