Transportation.com, the on-line logistics company, has gone international.

Tuesday, Transportation.com began offering access to fully integrated air, ocean and land transportation covering major markets throughout the world. The company’s international services include documentation, customs clearance, consular and letter of credit functions.
Transportation.com now provides global ocean and air quotes, full transit insurance, single invoicing for entire international freight moves and around-the-clock access to tracking and tracing shipments.
"The market has been looking for a company that can offer both domestic and global transportation and logistics management services. We recognized this early on, and committed to not be one of the many 'niche' Internet-enabled service providers. We believe this strategy has now been proven correct as is evidenced by our business success," said Transportation.com President and CEO James Ritchie.
Transportation.com, based in Overland Park, Kan., and Irvine, Calif., offers both Internet-based and traditional logistics services. The company is backed by LTL giant Yellow Corp. among others.
