Mechanics students at a college in British Columbia, Canada, will get hands-on experience on a truck donated by Western Star.

Western Star donated the truck to The University College of the Cariboo in Kamloops, B.C. The truck has been used for the last six years by Western Star's engineering group as a prototype for testing purposes and in the design of new options and truck configurations. It will help up to 250 students a year.
"This truck is a valuable learning resource for use in our commercial transport and heavy-duty mechanical programs," said UCC President Roger Barnsley. "It is particularly important that our students have the opportunity to learn about and practice on the equipment and systems that they will actually encounter in the workplace after graduation."
